That Lady in The Pool: Photograph Permissions and download

The woman in the pool photograph is from an old advertisement from Spectrum Cellular, long out of business. It may have never been copyrighted. I did a search, though, to make sure no copyright was infringed upon by contacting two former employees of the company. Here's what one wrote:

Tue, 20 Feb 2001 12:53:18 -0600 From: Arnold Hull <ahull@esi-estech.com>

Mr. Farley,

Larry Blair, a friend and former coworker forwarded your message to me. Spectrum Cellular has in fact changed names as well as directions a few times.  Last time I checked, it was still public and traded under SITI (NASDAQ), but it may be completely folded by now.  In fact, I just stopped and checked for fun and SITI was not found.  I would be amazed at this point if you would be infringing on anything.  I know two years ago it was changing to an Internet marketing company of some kind, but it never appeared to do anything in that arena.  I can't imagine anyone coming after you for using an image from a brochure.  Live a little and have a nice day.

Regards,

Arnold Hull

The photograph was already screened for print so it will always be low quality. You can download two versions by clicking slowly on the link, holding your cursor down for a second or two, then saving the image to your hardrive. Select "Save link as" or somesuch. If you click too quickly your browser or image program will try to open the files. Image size is 4.473" wide by 3.113" high. And give my website some credit, okay? Thanks.

babe with briefcase model

The first portable units were really big and heavy. Called transportables or luggables, few were as glamorous as this one made by Spectrum Cellular Corporation. Oki, too, produced a briefcase model.
